Surrender a Dog

To keep every dog in our care healthy, safe, and set up for a successful transition, the following are required:

Dedicated Ruff Land Kennel

You must provide an XL or Large Ruff Land kennel in our required color (we will tell you the color) with the goal of lasting them for life. This kennel will belong exclusively to your dog throughout the program and will go with them to their new home.

Keeping the same kennel provides a familiar, structured space during decompression and training and gives the dog consistency when transitioning into their adoptive home.

Veterinary Requirements

Recent veterinary exam and clean bill of health

Bloodwork to rule out underlying health concerns

Negative heartworm test

Negative fecal test for parasites/worms

Current vaccinations

There is no surrender fee for our Rehome Program. Instead, we ask owners to make sure their dog arrives medically cleared and with the equipment they’ll need throughout the program and in their future home.

Any known medical conditions, medications, bite history, or behavioral concerns must be fully disclosed before intake.

Once They’re With Us

New Chapter K9 handles the evaluation, individualized training and rehabilitation, adopter screening, and placement process to find the most appropriate long-term home.
